A LOCAL HERO WITH A STORY TO TELL

This is the story of Jackie Cochran.

A woman from Walton county who held the most land, speed, and altitude records of her time as a pilot, amongst many other things, and she did it all under a fake name.

WHAT WE'RE DOING

There are questions surrounding Jackie that we seek to uncover through the process of making the first investigative documentary about her life.

Based on research by award-winning playwright Nancy Hasty, we believe DeFuniak Springs native, Jackie Cochran, is the most well documented American hero that you’ve never heard of.

The purpose of our documentary is to separate fact from fiction, and leave it to the viewers to decide if Jackie rightfully deserves to sit alongside Chuck Yeager and Amelia Earhart in American cannon.
